Arrested Man Released Without Charge in Truro Car Park Death

Police have released a man without charge following the unexplained death in Truro.

Detectives were called at around 10.45am on Monday, August 17 after the body of a man was found at Moorfield Car Park in Calenick Street. The deceased, Ben Gough, 41, from the Truro area, was found on the ground floor of the car park.

A 44-year-old man from Truro was arrested the following day on suspicion of assault grievous bodily harm, administering a noxious substance and theft. Following further enquiries, he was released from custody on Wednesday, August 19 and is no longer linked to the investigation.

Senior investigating officer, Detective Inspector Jon Bray, said: "The man arrested as part of our investigation has today been released without charge and is no longer connected to our enquiries.

"Our investigation continues as we work to establish the circumstances surrounding this man's death."

Detective Inspector Bray said police continue to appeal for information about anything suspicious in the area between Friday afternoon and Monday. Officers continue to review CCTV footage to trace his movements in the days leading up to his death.

The man's death remains unexplained. Enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances.
