Four Arrested After Murder Probe in Liskeard

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was found dead at a property in Liskeard. Police launched a murder investigation following the discovery.

Officers were called shortly before 9.30pm on Sunday, September 13, after reports that a man had been found deceased inside a property at Baytree Hill. They attended and found the victim inside.

A local man in his 30s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder. Further enquiries led to three more arrests. Two local men aged in their 40s and 50s were arrested on suspicion of murder, and a man in his 20s from Plymouth was also detained. All four remain in police custody.

The victim is believed to be a man in his 50s from Liskeard, although formal identification has not yet taken place.

Detective Inspector Pete Gee said residents could expect to see an increased police presence in the town as the investigation continues. He said: "Residents in Liskeard will today see an increased police presence around the town as our investigation continues at pace.

"We appreciate incidents such as this cause great concern within the community, however we do not believe there is any wider threat to the community at this time.

"Anybody with any information or footage that may be relevant to the investigation is asked to contact 101 or visit our website quoting 50260246022."

Police are appealing for anyone with information or relevant footage to come forward as enquiries continue.
