Police are currently at Liskeard town centre after a murder investigation was launched. The garden area and neighbouring shelter along Dean Street have been cordoned off, with blue and white police tape running from the Early's letting agency up to the ladies toilet block.
A staff member at a nearby store confirmed that police had a scene guard at the scene. Another store owner told Cornwall Live that there had been a police presence at the garden "for 12 hours".
Social media posts show a number of items inside the shelter which remains behind the cordon, including sleeping bags. Photos provided by a member of the public taken today show a number of Crime Scene Investigators gathering evidence at that location.
A police spokesperson said: "A murder investigation is underway following the death of a man in Liskeard.
"Officers were called shortly before 9.30pm on Sunday 13 September after a report a man had been located deceased within a property at Baytree Hill.
"Officers attended the address and found the victim inside.
"A local man in his 30s was arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder.
"Fast-paced enquiries identified three further suspects.
"Two local men aged in their 40s and 50s respectively were soon located locally and arrested on suspicion of murder.
"A man in his 20s from Plymouth has since also been arrested on suspicion of murder.
"All four suspects remain in police custody at this time.
"The victim is believed to be a man in his 50s from Liskeard although formal identification has yet to take place."
Detective Inspector Pete Gee said: “Residents in Liskeard will today see an increased police presence around the town as our investigation continues at pace.
“We appreciate incidents such as this cause great concern within the community, however we do not believe there is any wider threat to the community at this time.
