Newquay Pride has been cancelled because of safety concerns linked to forecast winds gusting at 40mph.
The decision was made after the adverse weather exceeded the safety parameters set by insurance requirements. This is not the first time severe weather has forced organisers to call off the event.
Organisers said they are disappointed but remain committed to hosting a future celebration, possibly around Christmas. Because road closures must be submitted three months in advance, plans for the rearranged event are still being developed.
They also plan to reschedule a radio interview to provide updates once further details are confirmed. Participants and the community are urged to stay tuned for announcements about the rescheduled event.
