The Newquay Pride event, scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday), has been cancelled. Cornwall Pride said the decision was “not a decision we made lightly” after severe weather was forecast across the Duchy. Organisers hope the event will return later in the year, saying they are “working on a new date” and will share updates soon.
A spokesperson for Cornwall Pride said: “Due to the severe weather conditions, we have made the difficult decision to cancel Newquay Pride tomorrow. This decision has not been made lightly. The safety and wellbeing of our community, volunteers, performers, traders and everyone planning to attend must always come first. We know how disappointing this will be, and we share that disappointment. Cornwall Pride cares deeply about our community, and we are committed to making sure Newquay Pride can run again later in the year. We will be working hard to explore a new date and will share further updates as soon as we can. Thank you for your understanding, patience and continued support.”
