Police are investigating after a man died at a public car park in Truro.
Ambulance staff called officers to Moorfield Car Park in Calenick Street at around 10.45am on Monday, August 17.
A 41-year-old man from the Truro area was found deceased inside the ground floor of the car park. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
The force said significant enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death, which is currently being treated as unexplained.
A cordon remains in place around the closed ground floor of the car park while forensic examinations and searches are carried out. Officers are also reviewing CCTV footage to establish the man’s movements prior to his death.
Detective Inspector Jon Bray said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage as we work to establish the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
“We are appealing to anyone who may have information or witnessed anything suspicious in the area between the afternoon of Friday, August 14 and 10.45am on Monday, August 17.
“There will be ongoing police presence in the area while enquiries continue and anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak with officers at the scene.
“The inside ground floor car parking will remain closed today while detectives and specialist teams carry out their investigations. The outside parking area remains unaffected.”
The force has thanked members of the public for their assistance and is asking anyone who requires access to a vehicle within a cordoned area to speak to one of the officers at the scene.
