Police Incident Closes Tiverton A-Road

A major A-road was partially closed this morning (Monday, September 7) after a police incident. The A361 was closed southbound as officers responded to reports of a concern for the welfare of a woman in the area.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: "Police were notified at around 11.10am today to reports of a concern of welfare for a woman on a bridge on Heathcoat Way, Tiverton."

Traffic monitoring site Inrix reported the incident at around 11.30am, stating: "A396 Great Western Way Southbound closed, slow traffic due to police incident from Lea Road to Blundells Road."

Inrix said traffic had cleared in the area by around 4.45pm.
