Drivers faced delays across Devon as a number of incidents caused issues on major routes today (Thursday, September 24). The A38 southbound near Kennford was partially blocked after a crash. There were also delays on the A35 in Harcombe because of roadworks. The A381 near Newton Abbot was also facing delays as temporary traffic lights were in place following a tractor fire yesterday evening (September 23). A broken down vehicle on the M5 also caused major delays near Okehampton.
Inrix updated at 3.34pm: "Queueing traffic on A380 King's Ash Road Southbound between Fernicombe Road and A385 Totnes Road / A3022 Brixham Road (Tweenaway Cross). Travel time is 15 minutes."
Inrix said at 3.13pm: "Usual slow traffic on A380 King's Ash Road Southbound between Fernicombe Road and A385 Totnes Road / A3022 Brixham Road (Tweenaway Cross). Travel time is ten minutes."
Inrix said at 2.53pm: "Road cleared and traffic easing, accident cleared on A38 Devon Expressway Southbound after the A379 ( Kennford ). Previous congestion to M5 J30 (Exeter / Service Areas)."
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "This was a two-vehicle collision involving a lorry and a car."
