Penzance Traffic Jams After A30 Crash Shuts Road

Traffic queues formed around Penzance after a crash on the A30. Inrix reported that the A30 at Eastern Green was closed "in both directions" due to a "multi-vehicle accident". The incident was first reported at 2.12pm. The road was closed between Polmeere Road and Jelbert Way, at the Branwell Lane roundabout. Traffic maps showed tailbacks along Eastern Green along the seafront as far back as Chyandour Cliff, as well as along Jelbert Way.

The crash cleared by 6pm. Inrix said the crash had been cleared and traffic had eased, but the site continued to show the road closed and jams along Eastern Green at the seafront remained. However, traffic was slowly moving along Chyandour Cliff and accompanying roads as motorists attempted to find alternative routes.
