Photographs taken in a town centre show a heavy police presence after a murder investigation was launched in Cornwall. A man was found dead in a property in Liskeard on Sunday evening (September 13), sparking a major response in the town.
A cordon was set up along Dean Street with blue and white police tape running from the Early's letting agency up to the ladies toilet block. A witness told CornwallLive there had been police in the area for "12 hours" and another witness said there was a scene guard in place.
A local man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of murder at the scene. Two local men in their 40s and 50s respectively were arrested on suspicion of murder after being located a short time later. A man in his 20s from Plymouth was also arrested on suspicion of murder, police confirm.
The victim is believed to be a man in his 50s from Liskeard, but formal identification has yet to take place.
Detective Inspector Pete Gee said: “Residents in Liskeard will today see an increased police presence around the town as our investigation continues at pace.
“We appreciate incidents such as this cause great concern within the community, however we do not believe there is any wider threat to the community at this time.
