The RMT has announced that Go Cornwall bus drivers and depot workers will begin industrial action short of a strike from Friday, October 2. The action follows a vote by union members to oppose the company's refusal to recognise the union.
The union said its members voted overwhelmingly in favour of industrial action to assert their right to representation. The action will not involve strike days but will include a ban on overtime and rest-day working. Members have also been instructed to take their full meal breaks rather than working through them.
The RMT says the dispute centres on Go Cornwall's refusal to recognise the union, despite a ruling by the TUC Disputes Committee in January.
RMT general secretary Eddie Dempsey said: "It is time Go Cornwall respected the democratic choice of the whole workforce by creating a united bargaining structure that genuinely protects every driver and depot worker."
Go Cornwall have been asked to comment, but as yet no response has been received.
