Police are investigating an attack near Exeter Cathedral on Tuesday evening (August 25) that was filmed and circulated online.
The assault involved "numerous people" and was recorded and shared on social media. Police said it had appeared on an Exmouth community Facebook group but has since been deleted.
It is not currently known if anyone suffered any injuries during the attack.
Officers are appealing for witnesses or anyone with information about those involved to contact the force.
