A man in his 70s has died following an incident on a beach in the South West.
Witnesses reported seeing around five police cars, three ambulances and the Devon Air Ambulance following the incident at Croyde Beach in Devon yesterday afternoon (August 12).
One eyewitness said they saw the air ambulance make two landings.
Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that the individual involved has died.
A spokesperson for the force said: "We were called at around 1.25pm on Wednesday, August 12 following a report of a man having suffered a medical episode whilst in the sea at Croyde Beach. Sadly, despite resuscitation attempts the man in his 70s was pronounced deceased at the scene. His next of kin have been informed."
