Cornwall Council has confirmed several road closures in South East Cornwall. The latest public notices indicate potential closures in Fowey, Lostwithiel and Dobwalls.
Passage Lane in Fowey will be closed on September 7 for one day. The closure is to enable Wildanet to undertake overhead connection works between 9am and 6pm. The affected section runs from near the layby to the junction with Penventinue Lane. Pedestrian access to properties in the affected area will be maintained.
Browns Hill in Fowey will be closed to through traffic between September 22 and September 24. The closure is for ducting works to be undertaken by or on behalf of BT, and will be in force between 8am and 6pm on those days. The entire length of Browns Hill will be subject to the closure. There is no alternative route, but access to properties for pedestrians and vehicles will be maintained for the duration.
A footpath in Lostwithiel between South Street and Quay Street is set to be closed until September 25. The footpath was placed under an emergency 21-day closure order on August 5 amid concerns that it could present a danger to the public due to structural issues. The closure has now been extended until September 25, when Cornwall Council anticipates the necessary remedial works will be completed. The prohibition of use will be in place 24 hours a day. Nothing in the order authorising the closure will apply to traffic associated with the works, emergencies, or anything done with the permission of or at the discretion of a police officer.
