Cornwall Council has announced a series of road closures in Bude, Stratton and Launceston for upcoming maintenance and works.
Public notices cover a range of applications, from licensing for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications and roadworks. They are designed to inform communities about the latest plans in their area, and such applications are considered for approval or refusal by local authorities. Below are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council in North Cornwall and Torridge District Council in Torridge.
The council has confirmed that several roads in North Cornwall will be closed in the coming weeks. These closures are required for various reasons, and as part of the authorisation process, the proposed closures must be advertised in local news titles to make the public aware.
The latest public notices indicate potential road closures in Stratton, Bude and Launceston.
In Stratton, Union Hill will be closed between September 7 and September 9. The closure will allow Circet TM to carry out cabling and desilting works on the road, between the junction with New Road and the property known as Pyewell. The prohibition on through traffic will be in place between 8am and 6pm on these days, although pedestrian and vehicular access will be maintained to properties in the affected area.
In Bude, Coast Road will be closed to through traffic between September 7 and September 9. The closure is necessary to enable Cormac Solutions Ltd to repair a perforated pipe installation. It will be in force for 24 hours a day, weekdays only. The section of road affected is between grid reference SS 19597 00967 and the junction to the access to Widemouth Bay Caravan Park. Pedestrian access will be maintained to properties in the affected area.
In Launceston, North Beer Lane will be closed between September 21 and September 29. The closure is to enable National Grid to undertake new electric connection works. The affected stretch is North Beer Lane between the junction known as The Bramble and the junction with Tala Hill. An alternative route will be signposted on site for the duration of the closure, which will be in force for 24 hours a day, weekends included, between the dates listed.
