Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman was assaulted in Newton Abbot.
The attack happened between 9pm and 9.30pm on Tuesday, August 11, near McDonald’s and Sainsbury’s at Penn Inn.
According to officers, the victim was approached by a woman who had been driving a car. The driver got out and made accusations towards the victim before walking away. The suspect then followed the victim, pulled her hair, and punched and kicked her, leaving the victim with minor injuries.
Police are particularly keen to speak to a man who stepped in and stopped the assault. He is described as white, in his mid-30s, and was carrying a child on his shoulders.
Officers are asking anyone who witnessed the incident, or has relevant CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage, to come forward. Information can be provided by calling 101 or through the police website, quoting reference 50260220222.
