A motorcyclist is currently fighting for his life after a devastating crash on the old A30 at Goss Moor. The collision, which occurred at the crossroads near the Iron Bridge, involved a white Yamaha motorcycle and a grey Land Rover Freelander, prompting an immediate response from emergency services. The injured rider, a man in his 30s from St Austell, suffered life-threatening injuries and was swiftly airlifted to Derriford Hospital for urgent medical attention.

Authorities acted swiftly to address the situation, shutting down the road in both directions for approximately eight hours. This closure was necessary to facilitate a thorough forensic examination of the scene, enabling investigators to determine the circumstances surrounding the collision. In their official statement, a police spokesperson shared the following details: “Police are appealing for witnesses following a critical collision that transpired on June 13, involving a motorcyclist on the old A30 at Goss Moor. At approximately 3.10pm, emergency services were summoned to the scene after a white Yamaha motorcycle and a grey Land Rover Freelander collided at the crossroads near the Iron Bridge. The injured motorcyclist, a man in his 30s from St Austell, suffered life-threatening injuries and was promptly transported to Derriford Hospital via air ambulance. The road closure, in effect for approximately eight hours, enabled our officers to conduct a comprehensive forensic examination. Our investigation into the incident is ongoing, and we urge any witnesses who have not yet come forward to contact us. Furthermore, we kindly request the submission of any dashcam footage that may aid our inquiries.”
