On Thursday, 17 September 2026, Cornwall's sporting scene welcomed a new addition with the launch of Padel Tide, Falmouth's first dedicated padel club, officially opened at the weekend at Falmouth Cricket Club.
Local business owners, founding members, coaches and families gathered for the celebration, where Falmouth Town Mayor Cllr Alan Jewell cut the ribbon before stepping straight onto the court to join in on the action.
Set within the grounds of Falmouth Cricket Club, the new venue offers a natural home for the fast-growing sport, which blends elements of squash and tennis.
"Our core focus from day one has been building a genuine community and bringing people together through sport," said the Padel Tide team. "Falmouth Cricket Club is a beautiful space, and partnering with them allows us to establish a vibrant sports hub where players can connect both on and off the court."
To book a court, players can download the free Playtomic app, create an account, then search for Padel Tide Falmouth to view live court availability, reserve a slot or join open matches. The coaching team offers tailored 1:1 sessions, group coaching, and the beginner-friendly You Three and Me format, where three players take to the court with a dedicated coach. Regular Americano tournaments will run throughout the season, offering a fast-paced, social format with rotating partners.
With the courts now officially open, the countdown to Falmouth's very first games is on.
