A former quarry site in Cornwall is being sold at auction with a guide price of £50,000 or more.
Chywoon Quarry, at Longdowns near Penryn, is owned by Cornwall Council and will be auctioned online later this month. The sale is handled by Clive Emson Auctioneers, and bidding concludes on Thursday, September 24.
The freehold site covers 0.86 hectares (2.13 acres) and includes a field, several dilapidated buildings, and the former quarry itself.
Katie Semmens, senior auction appraiser at Clive Emson Auctioneers, said: "This is an interesting opportunity to acquire a former quarry along with a good-size field and buildings in a rural location. Interested parties may see a variety of different uses for the site, subject to the necessary consents."

Chywoon Quarry lies about 2.5 miles from Penryn and five miles from Falmouth. Any future use of the site will require the necessary planning permissions and regulatory approvals.
Viewings are strictly by prior appointment with Clive Emson Auctioneers. The online auction lists this lot as number 35 out of 288 lots across England in the September sale.
Guide prices indicate the seller's minimum expectation and may change before the auction. The lot is offered subject to a reserve price, which the auctioneer cannot sell below.
