One-Way System Planned for Cliff Road as Mid Cornwall Metro Works Begin

Public notices cover a range of applications, from licensing for liqueur or entertainment to planning applications, roadworks and other works. Their purpose is to keep communities informed about the latest plans in their area, and local authorities consider these applications for approval or refusal. Here are some of the latest applications submitted to Cornwall Council.

In Newquay, a temporary one-way traffic order will be introduced on Cliff Road between the junction with Narrowcliff and Edgecumbe Avenue and the Cliff Road junction with Oakleigh Terrace, running in an easterly to westerly direction. The order is needed because highway improvement works are being carried out on or near the road to support the construction of the Mid Cornwall Metro. It comes into force on September 4 and is expected to expire on March 31, 2027. An alternative route will be signposted on site.

In Fowey, Tower Park will be closed between September 14 and September 15, from 7.30am to 6pm, to allow footway patching works. The affected section is between No 23 and No 29. Pedestrian and vehicular access to properties will be maintained.

Also in Fowey, Water Lane will be closed for one day on September 15. The closure will run from 7.30am to 5pm and is needed for tree works. The affected stretch runs from the junction with Church Hill to the junction with the access to South Torfrey Farm. Pedestrian access will be maintained.

In Newquay, Tredagon Road will be closed between September 14 and September 18. Cornwall Council says the closure is necessary for ducting and chamber installation works, with traffic restrictions in place 24 hours a day during those dates. The affected stretch runs from Marver Cottage to the Scarlet Hotel. Pedestrian and vehicular access to properties in the area will be maintained.

In Liskeard, Tremeddan Lane will be closed on September 15 and September 16 between 8am and 6pm. The affected properties are on Tremeddan Lane between properties 1 and 7. The closure is to enable Circet TM to carry out pole replacement works.
