A man suffered a potentially serious injury after a large fight broke out in Truro city centre this afternoon, Monday August 24.
Armed police, officers and ambulance crews were called to Calenick Street at about 1.45pm. Emergency crews responded to a fight involving a number of people after a bladed article, understood to be a large knife, was reported.
A cordon was put in place in the centre, blocking off several roads. Witnesses told CornwallLive there was a very large police and ambulance presence in the area.
One person said: "[The road is] all cordoned off around Burger King, around 30 coppers, 12 police cars".

Police confirmed one man suffered potentially serious injuries and two other men suffered minor injuries. Two men in their 20s have been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm with intent. At the time of reporting, they remain in police custody.
The people involved are believed to be known to each other, and there is no wider risk to the public. Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident, or who has footage or information, to contact the force quoting 50260226230.
