Cornwall reality star Jack Bradshaw has opened up about his troubled relationship with alcohol, saying he has been actively working to address it since appearing on season three of Love Is Blind UK.
The 30-year-old, who found love with Faye Domaille on the popular Netflix dating show, made the admission in an interview with presenter Will Njobvu.
Jack explained that he had come to use alcohol as a coping mechanism, and stress was a key trigger. "When I feel stressed I drink more. When I feel very stressed I drink very much and self-destruct," he admitted.
Jack revealed: "I've made a lot of personal growth throughout the last year and one of the things I recognised needed a lot of work was my relationship with alcohol. You don't realise it when you're in it.
"And it's hard to say that you have a bad relationship with alcohol because you're not waking up at seven in the morning drinking vodka before work. That's a problem with alcohol."
The former chef went on to explain that a difficult relationship with drink does not always look the way people expect.
"A bad relationship with alcohol could be many things. I have realised my relationship with alcohol; I use it as a coping mechanism, a stress reliever to take the edge off," he said.
Jack added that while he has been working on his habits over the past year, he has not given up drinking entirely. "That is something that over the last year I've been working on massively. [But] we still drink, we still party."
The Cornwall lad found fame after signing up to Love Is Blind UK in search of a wife, striking up connections with both Faye Domaille and Ciara Murphy during the blind dating phase of the experiment.
It was Faye who ultimately stole his heart, and the pair have confirmed they are still going strong a year on from their televised wedding.
The spouses have since embarked on a round-the-world adventure together, visiting destinations including Australia and Vietnam.
