Girl, 11, Airlifted After Suffering Life-Changing Injuries in Devon Crash

An 11-year-old girl has suffered life-changing injuries during a crash on an A-road in Devon.

The incident happened on the A30 eastbound near Tedburn St Mary, by Fingle Glen junction, at 12.40pm on Thursday. It involved a Volkswagen Polo and a Ford Ranger.

The girl, from Monmouth in South Wales, was a passenger in the Polo. Devon and Cornwall Police said she suffered life-changing injuries and was taken to Bristol Children's Hospital, where she remains, by air ambulance.

The female driver and two children from the same car were taken to Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with minor injuries. The woman remains in hospital, with all three victims also from Monmouth, Wales Online reports.

The A30 was closed following the incident and fully reopened in both directions at 8.40pm the same day.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Officers from the Roads Policing Team are investigating the circumstances surrounding the collision and appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward.

"Anyone with any relevant information is asked to contact police via our website or by calling 101, quoting log number 370 of 20/08/26 or occurrence 50260222614."
