An inquest has heard that an 80-year-old farmer died after being trampled by a cow on her farm. Jennifer Uglow, from Whitstone near Holsworthy in Devon, was taken to Derriford Hospital in Plymouth after the incident on Wednesday 29 July, but died 11 days later.
The inquest at Devon Coroner's Court in Exeter heard that Uglow, originally from Cornwall, suffered multiple chest injuries. The cause of death was respiratory failure caused by chest wall trauma.
Uglow, of West Balsdon farm, had been treated in the hospital's intensive care unit before dying on Sunday 9 August.
