Bude’s RNLI Lifeboat Day Set for Full Day of Family Fun

Bude is counting down to its RNLI Lifeboat Day, with organisers promising a full day of family fun, live entertainment and community spirit.

The event takes place on Monday, August 31, from 10am until late. Activities will be spread across Summerleaze Beach, the Castle Grounds, the Canal, Barkhouse Green, Brendon Arms and the Falcon Hotel.

The annual fundraiser is organised by the Bude RNLI Fundraising Crew. It aims to celebrate the town’s volunteer lifeboat crew while raising vital funds for the station.

The Lifeboat Station will be the heart of the day. Visitors can enjoy tours, meet the Bude Coastguard Rescue Team, and watch a search and rescue demonstration, weather permitting.

The Castle Grounds will host the largest cluster of stalls and activities. These include cream teas, pasties, charity stands, face painting and a food court featuring Leo’s Pizza, Fresh Fries, Hannah’s Kitchen, The Split Bean and Abby’s Ice Cream Treats.

The Canal will feature traditional rowing races, vintage vehicles, amusement rides and the Bude Canoe Club’s canoe polo tournament.

Local favourites return with competitions, music and the ever-popular Lobster Draw.
