Cash, alcohol, and a flag were stolen from the Royal British Legion Club in Penzance earlier this week.
A person smashed a window between 10.30pm and 11.35pm on Tuesday, September 22, and carried out an "untidy search" of the club. They drank alcohol inside before taking "a quantity of cash, a case of beer, and a ceremonial flag". The flag was later found nearby, police confirm.
A witness told CornwallLive that a person broke into the club "robbing it and wrecking it", adding they "left it in a mess".
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has CCTV or doorbell footage of the area to contact the force. Police are looking for a suspect described as a slim, white male. He was wearing a grey tracksuit top and black trousers with red inserts at the bottom, police confirm.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Anyone with information is asked to contact police online or by calling 101, quoting crime reference 50260255464 ."
