Alan Paver, joint-head coach of Cornish Pirates, hopes his team's on-field play can match the excitement around the club off the field.
Pirates start their Champ Rugby season on Sunday, hosting Doncaster Knights at the Mennaye. The game comes after the club completed its new ownership structure last week, which brings in United States-based investors alongside UK-based directors, including local businesspeople and television presenter Nick Knowles.
"There's a real buzz around the club at the moment and we obviously want to match that with on-field performances," Paver told BBC Radio Cornwall. "The guys have trained extremely hard, we are prepared and we do feel we're in a good place."

Pirates failed to win any of their first three matches at the start of last season, but the club has retained a large part of the squad that finished seventh. Paver believes continuity in both players and coaching staff can help his side start better this time.
"It's been a while now since we've been able to retain the core of the squad and obviously the staff are another year on with each other, the support staff, strength and conditioning, physios, and obviously the coaches are another year working together. We've been able to build the right skillsets, understand the game model, so I just think we're in a better place to get going this season. We don't take anything for granted, but continuity does make a difference when you're going towards the start of a season."
