Construction Begins on 40-Home Connor Downs Development

Construction has begun on a 40-home development in Connor Downs, near Hayle.

Treveth has appointed Sureflow Building Services as contractor to deliver Hedhas Tewynnow. The scheme will provide a mix of affordable rent, open market rent, shared ownership and open market sale homes.

Dominic O’Neill, development director at Treveth, said: “Reaching the start-on-site stage is an exciting milestone and we’re looking forward to seeing the development take shape over the coming months. Connor Downs is a well-established community and this development will provide 40 much-needed new homes for the area, helping more people to find a home in this part of Cornwall.”

The properties will be built to what the company says are high standards of quality and energy efficiency, with air source heat pumps included to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. Landscaping and biodiversity measures will be incorporated as part of the wider site design.

Where applicable, Treveth uses local connection criteria to prioritise local people for homes.

Brendon Cocking, construction director at Sureflow Building Services, added: “We’re looking forward to working with Treveth and the wider team to deliver homes that are genuinely needed in the local area. Supporting our local supply chain and delivering a quality development that everyone can be proud of is an important part of our approach.”

The first homes at Hedhas Tewynnow are anticipated to become available towards the end of 2027.

Established by Cornwall Council, Treveth operates under its ‘In Cornwall, For Cornwall’ ethos, with profits reinvested into Cornwall’s public services. The development follows Treveth delivering more than 500 new homes across Cornwall.
