Work Begins on 40 West Cornwall Homes, First Due in 2027

Work has begun on a new housing development in Cornwall. Named Hedhas Tewynnow, the scheme will bring 40 new homes to Connor Downs, near Hayle. It is being delivered by Treveth, a developer established by Cornwall Council.

Dominic O'Neill, development director at Treveth, said: "We're really pleased to see work getting underway at Hedhas Tewynnow.

"Reaching the start-on-site stage is an exciting milestone, and we're looking forward to seeing the development take shape over the coming months.

"Connor Downs is a well-established community, and this development will provide 40 much-needed new homes for the area, helping more people to find a home in this part of Cornwall."

The development will include a mix of affordable rent, open market rent, shared ownership, and homes for sale. Treveth will prioritise residents with a local connection to Cornwall, helping those who live and work in the county.

All homes will be built to high standards of quality and energy efficiency. The scheme will include air source heat pumps and other modern technologies to reduce carbon emissions and support more sustainable living. Landscaping and biodiversity measures will also be incorporated into the design to minimise environmental impact.

Brendon Cocking, construction director at Sureflow Building Services, said: "We're really pleased to be underway at Connor Downs and are looking forward to working with Treveth and the wider team to deliver homes that are genuinely needed in the local area.

"Supporting our local supply chain and delivering a quality development that everyone can be proud of is an important part of our approach."

Hedhas Tewynnow forms part of Treveth's wider residential portfolio. The company recently reached the milestone of delivering more than 500 new homes across Cornwall. Treveth's model is based on its 'In Cornwall, For Cornwall' approach. Profits are reinvested into public services in the county.

The first homes at Hedhas Tewynnow are expected to become available towards the end of 2027. Further details about the development, including how to register interest, will be released as construction progresses. Updates will be shared via Treveth's mailing list and social media channels.
