Truro City Football Club has announced plans to expand its Langarth base into a "stadium district". The development would include a new clubhouse, increased stadium capacity, accommodation, a community centre, a 3G pitch, and health, employment, retail, food and drink and other commercial uses.
The club is working on the Milestone Project with LGV Property Holdings LLP, which is 98 per cent owned by Cornwall Council and 2 per cent by Treveth Holdings, the council's development company. LGV is responsible for the neighbouring Langarth Garden Village new town.
The proposals cover a mixed-use stadium district designed to support activity beyond match days. Truro City FC says it would position the club as "an anchor institution for placemaking, community activity and economic impact within the city of Truro and Cornwall more widely".
The club says the site also benefits from its relationship with Cornwall Council's adjoining 1,250-space park-and-ride facility and direct connections into Truro's transport network. "Together, these elements support a well-connected destination for sport, health, employment and community activity," said a spokesperson.

Truro City, Cornwall Council and Treveth Holdings are now working collaboratively with prospective development partners, occupiers and investors to utilise the land space "to deliver lasting economic and social value for Truro and the wider Langarth community".
The club added that the proposed project reflects "the ambition and ethos of Truro City, with the potential for establishing a durable, long-term income stream for the club and its charity arm the Truro City Community Trust, for generations to come".
"Truro City is on a journey of continual improvement in everything we do," said the club’s chief executive officer Robin Karkeek. "Part of that journey is the aspiration to provide a solid foundation for the club's future success, both on the pitch and in the community.
