Wildanet, a full-fibre broadband company based in Cornwall, has become the first in the UK to launch a Powered by TiVo Internet TV service. The company announced the new service on September 9, offering customers a single box for live TV, catch-up, and streaming platforms. The service runs on Wildanet's full-fibre network and does not require a TV aerial, engineer visit, or new smart television.
Simon Hughes, chief commercial officer at Wildanet, said: "When we speak to residents across the South West, they tell us they don't want more gadgets or complicated set-ups; they just want things that work. The growing demand for Wi-Fi and TV in one place shows there is real demand for better, simpler services in rural areas powered by reliable, ultrafast full fibre broadband."
The TV service is powered by TiVo's entertainment platform and includes Freely, which offers free live and on-demand content alongside major streaming apps. It supports conversational voice search and personalised recommendations, and is designed to offer a simple plug-and-play solution.

The company says the launch shows how broadband providers can expand beyond connectivity to offer branded entertainment services. Wildanet's full-fibre network currently reaches around 62,000 homes and businesses across Cornwall and Devon. The rollout is continuing in rural communities with support from Project Gigabit and other government-funded contracts. The new TV service is now available to customers in live network areas. It is offered through simple monthly pricing and works with existing televisions.
