The A396 Great Western Way in Tiverton has reopened after a crash this morning (September 9) left a motorcyclist in hospital.
The incident happened near The Exeter Inn. Traffic was slow from Blundells Road to Station Road after the crash, which was first reported by traffic monitoring site Inrix at 10.07am.
Devon and Cornwall Police said a motorcyclist was taken to hospital with minor injuries after the crash, which involved one vehicle. The road has since been cleared and traffic is easing. Google Maps shows just a small amount of traffic following the incident.
Inrix no longer reports any incident at the scene.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said: "We were called to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision involving motorbike on a roundabout on Great Western Way, Tiverton, at around 10am on Wednesday 9 September. Emergency services attended the scene. The male rider was taken to hospital with minor injuries."
Earlier, a Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson had said: "We were called to reports of a single-vehicle road traffic collision involving motorbike on a roundabout on Great Western Way, Tiverton, at around 10am on Wednesday 9 September. Emergency services are at the scene. One person is reported to have been injured. The incident is ongoing."
Inrix said at 10.29am: "A396 Great Western Way Westbound blocked, slow traffic due to accident from Blundells Road to Station Road."
Traffic on the B3227 from Bampton is also experiencing delays.
