A teenage girl has died after an incident at a cricket club in Cornwall.
Emergency services were called to Grampound Road Cricket Club, near St Austell, on Thursday evening (August 20) after reports that a girl had collapsed.
She was taken to Derriford Hospital by air ambulance, but has since died, Grampound Cricket Club said.
The club described what happened as "tragic" and said the incident is believed to be medically related, not connected to cricket.
Grampound Cricket Club said: "It is with profound sadness that Grampound Road Cricket Club can confirm a tragic incident took place on Thursday evening.
"A teenage girl collapsed and was taken to hospital, but has now sadly died. This is believed to be a medical incident not connected to cricket."
Club Chair Lewis Sanders added: "Our thoughts and deepest sympathies are with her family, friends and everyone who knew and loved her at this unimaginably difficult time. We will respect the family's privacy and ask others to do the same.
"We would also like to thank all those who responded on Thursday evening, particularly those who provided immediate first aid and the emergency services including the Cornwall Air Ambulance."
The ambulance service confirmed that two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer and a doctor were sent to the scene.
One patient was taken to Derriford Hospital via the air ambulance.
A spokesperson for the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust (SWASFT) said: "We were called at 20:02hrs on Thursday, August 20, to an incident near St Austell.
"We sent two double-crewed land ambulances, an air ambulance, an operations officer, and a doctor to the scene.
"We conveyed one patient by air ambulance to Derriford Hospital."
