Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed that officers and paramedics were called to a Cornish car park this afternoon "following reports of concern for the welfare of a person."
The force remained at the scene of a Truro car park into this evening (Monday, August 17) after an incident inside the multistorey, and put cordons in place.
Officers were first called to Moorfield Car Park in Calenick Street at around 3pm. One witness reported seeing four or five police cars in the area and multiple officers on the scene.
As of 6pm, several police vehicles and forensic officers were still there. The car park was completely cordoned off, and police were retrieving customer vehicles for them.
A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson confirmed that officers and paramedics had been called to reports of concern for the welfare of a person.
"Police and paramedics are currently at the Moorfield Car Park in Calenick Street, Truro, following reports of concern for the welfare of a person," a force spokesperson said.
"The incident is ongoing and further updates will be provided in due course."
The Devon and Cornwall Police Force Incident Manager has so far not been available this evening for an update.
