Cornwall Divers Save Two Sharks from Lost Crab Pot

A wildlife charity has said it is encouraging people to report lost fishing gear they come across while at sea after divers found two bull huss sharks stuck inside a lost crab pot.

The Cornwall Wildlife Trust said marine conservation officer Matt Slater came across the pot and the trapped fish while diving with a friend.

They were diving as part of a Cornwall Council-funded project monitoring maerl beds off St Mawes, Cornwall.

Slater said: "It's amazing that two sharks would fit in there. It takes sharks a long time to die but they would have starved to death eventually. They could have been trapped in there
