Menwinnion Country House Care Home near Penzance, Cornwall, has been sold to Tom Bursnall for an undisclosed price. The home is rated 'Good' by regulators and is registered for up to 40 residents aged over 65. It specialises in caring for people with dementia, mental health conditions and physical disabilities.
The property is a 39-bedroom period building set across four acres of gardens, grounds and woodland. It was originally built in the early 1900s and has operated as a care home since the 1980s.
Brothers Jason and David McInulty of Ablecare had owned the home since 2015. They brought it to market to scale down their operations in Cornwall ahead of retirement.
Bursnall is an experienced care home operator in Wales, and this acquisition is his third care home. The sale was facilitated by Christie & Co, with funding arranged through Christie Finance.
