Truro City suffered their first home defeat of the season, losing 1-0 to Salisbury in the National League South.
Josh Hedges scored early for the visitors, putting the Tinners on the back foot. Salisbury held on for all three points at the Truro City Stadium.
Manager John Askey described the loss as "baffling" and was left frustrated by the result.
"It's difficult to sum it up, obviously we conceded a goal early, that gave them something to cling on to, we have done everything but put the ball in the back of the net, it's just baffling sometimes when you have so much possession and so many balls going into the box and it didn't fall for us at all tonight."
A Robbie Gallagher cross made the decisive difference early on, as Hedges was on hand to put the Whites ahead.
Plenty of chances did arise for Truro, with balls being sent into the box and much of the play leading to promising attacks, but they couldn't make any count.
After the break, Will Dean came close, but an expert save by the goalkeeper denied him. The keeper was having a positive evening.
Jordan Alonge almost doubled the visitors' lead, but his effort struck the post, leaving Truro still concerned about their attacking threat.
The result means Salisbury leapfrog their opponents in the league table, which will not make happy reading for those on the losing end. In the process, the Cornish side scuppered their chance to move up to second in the table.
"It's beyond frustration really," Askey added. "Saturday I was frustrated because I thought we played poorly, today I thought we played quite well, but it was just that final finish, and there were times where we should have finished and should have hit the back of the net and we haven't, but I don't think you'll see as many balls going into the opposition's box as we saw tonight, probably for the rest of the season," the Tinners boss explained.
Next up is the return of the FA Cup, with a trip to Wales to face Merthyr Town. It is a good chance to have a go in a different competition and put this fixture behind them.
"It's a good opportunity to get away from the league, and the FA Cup is a great competition to play in," Askey added.
