Firefighters responded to a late-night fire at a skate park in Cornwall. Crews from Cornwall Fire and Rescue Service were called to the scene at Penbeagle recreation ground in St Ives at around 10:28pm last night (September 23). On arrival, they found a bench on fire and set about extinguishing it. Dramatic pictures show a firefighter battling the blaze, with the bench left charred by the morning of September 24. A spokesperson for the fire service said: "One fire appliances responded to reports of a fire in the vicinity of Penbeagle recreation ground." They added: "On arrival, the crew confirmed that one bench was on fire and used a hose reel jet to extinguish the fire."
