South West Water Confirms Most Devon Supplies Restored

South West Water has said that most customers affected by a water outage have had their supplies restored.

Supplies were disrupted in Buckfastleigh, Kingsbridge, Paignton and Totnes in Devon, with some locations first reporting issues on Thursday.

On Saturday, the company said the problems were caused by air pockets in the network. By Sunday, it said the "vast majority" of affected customers were connected again.

It added: "A small number of customers may still be experiencing low pressure or a temporary loss of supply, but this is normal following this type of situation due to trapped air in the pipes.

"We'd like to reassure our customers that this is only temporary and does not affect water quality.

"We will continue to keep customers updated."

During the disruption, South West Water opened bottled water stations and said it distributed supplies to vulnerable customers.
