A man arrested after a firearms incident in Newquay has been released with no further action, police have confirmed.
Officers, including armed police, were called to a property on Higher Tower Road at around 1.35pm on Friday, September 18.
CornwallLive reported locals saw a large number of police vehicles in the residential street.
A police cordon was put in place, and pictures taken at the time showed armed officers at the scene.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of a firearms offence.
In an update on Monday, September 21, police confirmed the man will face no further police action regarding the incident.
A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: "Officers, including armed officers, attended an address in Higher Tower Road, Newquay around 1.35pm on Friday 18 September.
"A man in his 20s was arrested in relation to a suspected firearms offence.
"Following enquiries, it was decided that the man will face no further police action in relation to the incident."
