The organiser of Cornwall’s largest annual charity motorcycle ride has described the event as a huge success despite two minor crashes. The Martin Jennings Memorial Run took place on Sunday (September 20) and raised more than £10,000 for Cornwall Blood Bikes, a volunteer-run charity providing urgent out-of-hours delivery of blood, samples, medication and supplies to the NHS.
During the ride, two crashes occurred, leaving those involved with minor injuries. Devon and Cornwall Police said one collision involving two motorcycles happened shortly before 1pm around Carland Cross, while another saw a pillion passenger injured on the outskirts of Edgecumbe near Penryn at around 4:25pm.
