Devon Larratt has named his next target after beating Ivan Matyushenko at East vs West Armwrestling 26.
The Canadian, known as 'No Limits', put on a superb display on the left hand in front of a lively crowd in Jiaxing, China.
Devon Larratt was in top form at the event. As he often does, he started with mind games, trash-talking his opponent, who lost two points through fouls.
While building a 3-0 lead, Larratt shouted, 'Don’t foul out. You need to work on your wrist. I thought you were going to give me much more'.
Matyushenko was struggling, and Larratt sealed the win with a 4-0 result, letting out a 'Yes' as he secured the pin.
After celebrating, Larratt quickly turned his attention to what comes next, and he called out one specific rival.
In his post-match interview, he said: “Life is all about being the best that you can be. In the 115KG, I already think it’s me, but Alizhan Muratov is a major test, left-handed; I would be honoured to fight Alizhan, anytime, anywhere, as soon as Budapest, Hungary, as soon as Las Vegas, Nevada, USA. I’m ready, and in the right hand, I proclaim myself the champion, so whoever is most worthy, please step forward, talk to the league, I will fight immediately.”
Matyushenko is certainly a strong competitor, but he had no answer for Larratt, who put the win down to his versatility.
He explained: “Everybody knows Ivan is very humble, conservative, precise and refined. In the room before, I was once again warned, 'Devon, when you arm wrestle Ivan, you must be perfect. And Ivan is perfect in the hook, but I’m pretty good everywhere.”
