Cow Bride and Bull Groom Seek Wedding Outfits for Show

A wedding dress and a suit are being sought for a cow and a bull to wear on their big day. The pair will take part in a light-hearted farming competition at Devon County Show next year.

Farmer Jen Husband, 24, from the Roseland in Cornwall, said the animals would be taking part in a pairs class. Five-year-old pedigree shorthorn Longfield Tobias's Waterloo will be the bride, joining her son Bluebell Trewithian in the fancy dress competition. He will take on the role of groom.

Husband has appealed for help finding costumes that fit the "moolyweds". She said "anything which resembles a dress of some sort, makes them look glorious and wedding day ready" would be well received.

Husband said the family started showing cattle in 2021 on the Roseland Peninsula. Their "whole family comes from a farming background". She also said they were looking for a bridesmaid dress which her stepdad was "going to really love wearing" while leading the animals around the ring.

The fancy dress entry is a first for them, but Husband has seen other cow competitors enter previously dressed in costumes such as a pair inspired by Baywatch. "It's good fun and it makes everyone laugh," she said.
