A Truro takeaway has been closed for three months after police obtained a closure order in response to ongoing anti-social behaviour.

Neighbourhood Team Leader Sergeant Dave Pearce said: “It’s important that local residents, businesses and visitors to Truro city centre feel safe. This is a positive step to reassure that anti‑social behaviour in any form will not be tolerated. We will monitor the premises over the next three months and will take a robust approach toward any reported breaches of the closure order.
“Truro remains a safe place to live and work, and we encourage anyone who witnesses any act of anti‑social behaviour to report it as soon as possible via the force website so the behaviour can be addressed.”
The court heard that the late‑night kebab and burger shop had become a persistent and serious nuisance to members of the public.
PC Charlotte Grimstead, from the Truro Neighbourhood Police Team, worked with the force’s legal department and Cornwall Council’s ASB Team to secure the order.

Cornwall Council ASB officer Steve Lennon added: “Cornwall Council Anti‑Social Behaviour Team and Devon and Cornwall Police will continue to work in partnership to address any ASB issues within the county of Cornwall.
“This order being granted shows the strong collaborative approach that we will take to ensure that Cornwall remains a safe place to work, visit and live. We would like to thank the businesses who came forward and also the good people of Truro for their ongoing support.”
Only the building owner, emergency services and statutory agencies may enter the premises during the closure period. Anyone who breaches the order faces a fine, imprisonment, or both.
Officers will be available for face‑to‑face conversations at Truro Cathedral on Saturday 19 September between 1pm and 3pm, and again on Saturday 24 October between 2pm and 4pm at Tesco Superstore, Garras Wharf.
