A Cornish man has created a daily game that tests players' knowledge of the county's geography. CornwallTap presents five random locations or landmarks each day, asking players to pin them on an unmarked map of Cornwall.
Scores depend on how close a player gets to the correct spot, with zero points awarded for accidentally guessing Devon.
Mike Gascoigne, the creator, regularly played a global map guessing game with friends before the idea came to him. "We joked, 'wouldn't a Cornish version by great', so I thought I'd start writing it with a little help from AI on the coding, and then it developed into a final game from there."
The free game works on mobile and desktop browsers, and players can track their scores and share them with friends.
Since its launch in August, the game has attracted more than 600 players, spreading beyond his friendship group. Mike said: "Feedback has been really good – there are many of those players now coming back daily and sharing with their friends."
