Camborne began their National One campaign with a dramatic 38-36 win at Leeds Tykes, coming from 29-14 down at half time to claim a bonus-point victory. The result was their first since promotion to the third tier.
Ben Priddey scored two tries, while Josh Matavesi, Alex Ducker and Ben Prisk also crossed. Full-back Rory O'Kane kicked the decisive penalty late on.
"You look at the age of the squad, and there's a lot of young players in there that have played their first game for the club and also Nat One, so they're going to learn a lot," Camborne sporting director and former Exeter skills coach Ricky Pellow told BBC Radio Cornwall.
"Obviously the boys are going to be apprehensive going into the game, not knowing what Nat One rugby would be like. Now they know, and they know that they can compete, and they know that they can challenge the top teams in the league."
Camborne's first home game is this weekend, as they face Plymouth Albion in a cross-Tamar derby.
