Batteries made with 100 per cent Cornish lithium could reach the market in the near future.
Mining firm Cornish Lithium said lithium hydroxide monohydrate (LHM) produced from ore mined at its Trelavour Lithium Project near St Austell and processed at the company's demonstration plant has been successfully used to manufacture coin cell batteries.
Coin cell batteries, also known as button cell, power small portable devices such as wrist watches, pocket calculators and remote key fobs.
