£100k Vouchers Finally Delivered to Devon Homes

About £100,000 in vouchers for residents of a Devon housing estate have now been delivered, thanks to the persistence of a local councillor.

Councillor Jacqueline Fry (Reform UK, Newton Abbot North) had spent more than a year chasing the sustainable travel vouchers for Hele Park households.

The vouchers are worth £200 per eligible household and were part of an agreement with developer Taylor Wimpey when the homes were built in 2013.

That agreement, known as a Section 106, details the benefits and contributions a developer must make as a condition of planning permission.

Sometimes, busy council planning departments fail to enforce these pledges, and having multiple councils involved can make things worse.
