Veterans Regroup Cornwall Named Finalist for Soldiering On Award

The Cornwall-based team of Veterans Regroup CIC has been named a finalist in the national Soldiering On Awards. The accolade recognises the CIC's work supporting veterans across Cornwall and the wider Armed Forces Community in the region.

The organisation has been shortlisted for the 'Working Together Award', which celebrates outstanding collaboration and partnership working in support of the Armed Forces Community.

At the heart of Veterans Regroup's work is its growing network of multi-agency Armed Forces Hubs across Cornwall. These are currently delivered in Helston, Liskeard, Penryn, Newquay, Launceston, Redruth and Penzance, with a new hub launching in Torpoint in September and in Truro later this year.

The hubs bring together military charities and CICs, local authorities, NHS and health services, and military establishments within local communities. They provide welcoming and accessible places for members of the Armed Forces Community to access advice, support, guidance and advocacy across a wide range of needs. Support includes transitioning from military to civilian life, health and wellbeing, dental care, housing, employment and financial matters, with direct access and referrals to specialist services where needed.

Jane Jiwa, founder and managing director of Veterans Regroup CIC, said: "Being named a finalist in the national Soldiering On Awards is an incredible honour for our whole team. The Working Together Award is particularly meaningful to us because collaboration is at the heart of everything we do.

"This recognition belongs not only to our team, but also to our volunteers and all the organisations that support our Armed Forces Hubs and work alongside us. We are incredibly proud to represent Cornwall and its Armed Forces Community at the awards in London."

The winners will be announced at the Armed Forces Community Awards at Soldiering On Awards Night in London on Thursday, September 17, bringing together individuals and organisations from across the UK Armed Forces Community.
