Trerice Solar near St Dennis in Cornwall has secured planning permission.
The Stratkraft scheme includes a 32MW solar farm, a battery energy storage system and two kilometres of connecting cable. It will generate enough clean energy to power the equivalent of 10,000 homes annually.
The project also looks to secure wider outcomes, including improving biodiversity and creating new permissive footpaths. Because the site is adjacent to the Breney Common and Goss & Tregoss Moors Special Area of Conservation, a sensitive approach to design layout has been required from the outset.
